Dental emergencies can be painful and require immediate attention to prevent further damage. Quick action improves the chances of saving a tooth and alleviating discomfort. Here are common dental emergencies & what to do:

Knocked-out tooth

Handle by the crown, not the root.
Rinse gently with water—do not scrub.
If possible, place it back in the socket or store it in milk.
    Seek dental care immediately.

Lost filling or crown

Apply clove oil to the tooth for pain relief.
Use dental cement (from a pharmacy) to temporarily cover the area.
Do not use glue to reattach a crown.
Visit our office as soon as possible.

Cracked or broken tooth

    Rinse with lukewarm water.
    Apply gauze if bleeding.
Use a cold compress to reduce swelling.
Cover with dental cement if needed.
    Contact us for prompt treatment.

Dislodged or loose tooth

Avoid touching or wiggling the tooth.
Use a cold compress for swelling.
Visit our office immediately for stabilization.
